Messidor

CASTClémentine AMOUREUX, Catherine RETORÉ
SYNOPSISTanner explores one of his favourite themes - the limitations of freedom - in this totally original mixture of experimentation and melodrama. Two young women in their early twenties, an upper middle-class and a working-class country girl, hitchhike their way through Switzerland after having met by chance and without giving notice to anyone. But even their friendship cannot keep the idyllic odyssey free of violence and fear.
Considered as terrorists, the TV is after them...

"Messidor is an original, unpredictable, and disturbing film about two alienated young women in search of freedom from society. The film, in its poetic sweep, is reminiscent of terrence malik's Badlands and could have been a prototype for Thelma and Louise."
