Rough Day for the Queen

The Queen's name is Jeanne (Simone Signoret). She lives in a suburban cottage and works as a charwoman. Her mate, Albert, is a night-keeper. To help Albert's son who is just out of prison to kidnap his beloved-one and her child, she delivers a letter. It will take a whole long hard day which will become her own Mayerling. The only way for her to bear life is to live another imaginary life, thus she does not live one, but two or three days, at different times and in different situations.
